Life's Complicated, Finding Affordable Health Insurance Shouldn't Be |
Understanding Temporary or Short Term Health Insurance
The need for temporary or short term
health insurance can arise for a variety of reasons. Perhaps you
find yourself between jobs or have started a new job and are waiting for the
health insurance to take effect. Perhaps you are a recent college
graduate who hasn't found a job yet and are no longer carried under your
parents policy. Or perhaps you have just lost your coverage through your
employer. Whatever the reason, going without any health insurance for
any length of time, can be a risky proposition. Fortunately, if
you find yourself in such a predicament, you have the option of going with a
short term health insurance policy.
Temporary or short term health insurance
basically provides coverage for a limited period of time, typically up to
six months, although some plans may offer coverage for up to 12 months.
Most short term plans require a minimum of 30 days. Of course, if you
think you will need coverage for longer than 12 months, you may want to
consider a standard, longer term option such as an individual or family
health insurance plan. Click on the following link to continue reading about short term health insurance.
